Intel Enthusiast Gaming Rig

I really don’t know why they call it enthusiast gaming rig, but maybe because of freaking high budget they use for some reasonable (high end) additional parts for this rig. But it worth the bugs you spend on the pricing over $1300 bugs (maybe about RM6+++). A little bit unreasonable but the specs are good, with a hell lot of researching, I create two kinds of high-end gaming rig with Intel and AMD core inside each of them. Thanks to PCWizKid’s, I can search for some of the most wanted hardware out there for these enthusiast rig, which PCWizKid’s describe it on the net. Maybe my specs have nothing different compare to the site specs, but I might add or change some on certain hardware to satisfy my needs as well as yours. If you want to look at the original specs, go to the PCWizkid’s Tech Talk forum and get their PC configuration on their site.

Moreover, the price didn’t come from me, but from the list I gathered from the top shops of affordable prices internationally (mostly from Plaza LowYat and the net). So don’t blame me if you don’t get the same price as listed. So expect off budget. The hardware components are some of the premium parts which are more expensive than the mid type of gaming rig. This is because everything on this premium hardware can cost extra bugs.

Intel Core i7-950 3.06GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor

The last of it series before the monstrous Intel Core i7-980X Extreme, beating the last out of Intel capabilities on every processor out there even give some challenges to its brothers, Intel Core i7-940, 930, and 920, scaring them shitless. Hahaha.. As the processor is based on the same quad-core design, codename Bloomfield, as the other Core i7 CPUs and thus has a 45 nanometer architecture. But, in this CPU processor has some new features which are the DDR3 memory controller that was relocated in the CPU, the 8 MiByte big L3 cache, the L2 cache that has been reduced to 256 KiByte as well as the reintroduced Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) and the QPI connection that replaced the classical FSB. The i7-950 is running at 3.06 GHz (24 x 133MHz), so Intel has increased the frequency by 133 MHz in comparison to the Core i7, which doesn’t mean anything if this CPU couldn’t kick its cousins in the ass.

It says Quad Cores. Which means true multitasking and multithreading. So, keep on tab with Twitter online while sending some files across the room to another PC as you have WoW playing on the background with Itunes playing some songs. On top of that, open up some Videos for your own entertainment. All thanks to the Intels advanced Digital Media Boost. Oops, you still had some problem if you do that, but with the motherboard I’m trying to put in, but with Intel Turbo Boost technology and Intel HyperThreading technology The Core i7 enables highly threaded applications or demanding applications to work in maximum speed without any extra effort. Yup, no extra effort. No proof? Here you go.

That’s on Geforce GTX 280, what if it’s on MSI GeForce GTX 560?  Outrageous!!

ASUS Sabertooth X58 ATX Intel Motherboard

Forged for ultimate reliability, the Asus Sabertooth X58 delivers a "tough" image. It is based on Intel's X58 Express and ICH10R chipsets to host the newest LGA1366 Core i7 processors for ultimate powerful performance. An array of unique design and quality components makes it a great choice for the enthusiasts that pursue the preeminent stability, all-round compatibility, and extreme durability. An innovative ceramics coating with larger area delivers better cooling for increased system stability. The E.S.P technology offers optimal power efficiency for key components. TUF components including Alloy Choke, Cap. & MOSFET ensure solid performance even in the most challenging condition.

ASUS, you really got me this time.

Hmm, these words came from a reviewer on the net, but in my opinion after doing some research on this board, it was the most wises choice, I must admit. The board was meant for Intel Core i7 processor as it supports the Intel Turbo Boost Technology that this Intel Core i7-950 has. Moreover, this board supports any type of memory, if it’s DDR3. You can mount up about up to 6 slots on the board, with memory capacity of 24GB in total (6 x 4GB). Furthermore, the board has 6 USB 2.0 hubs and 2 USB 3.0 hubs, an IEEE 1394a and 1 Power eSATA as well as the eSATA 3GB/s port. What else would you need?

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) or 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory

I really don’t know why we need about 3 of those 2GB for this RAM, but after several days of researching, this 3 matched 2GB models can be used in the performance of the Intel Core i7 Triple Channel systems that provides outrageously fast 1600MHz performance. I’m in “awe”. Really, I am. But if you really don’t have the money to kill this thing, than I suggest you took only 4GB of this CORSAIR RAM (2 x 2GB). 4GB can also make a different in every little detail.
3 is better than 2. Believe it.

MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) N560GTX-TI Twin Frozr II/OC Video Card 1GB 256MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x 16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Once again NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti GPU pwns the gamer's sweet spot, delivering around 33% faster performance than GeForce GTX 460, overclocking headroom that is off the charts, and an incredible performance per watt. Discover the incredibly detailed world of DirectX 11 with the MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC graphics card. The card employs the next generation of top-grade materials – Military Class II components to provide the highest level of stability. When used with MSI’s Afterburner overclocking software, the N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC supports GPU overvoltage function to fully unleash the overclocking potential. More importantly, the MSI-exclusive Twin Frozr II thermal design utilizes large dual PWM fans, SuperPipe technology and nickel-plated copper base design, efficiently lowering the temperature by 20°C - a significant step up from the reference cooling solution – and ensuring a cool and quiet computing environment.

It is bigger than my arm. Heavier than my Algebra book.

It’s true, don’t you mess with this baby, such beast. This monster card deserves every last bit of money for its performance. Imagine if you play Crysis 2 on High performance, or even WoW: Cataclysm to its fullest. That would be a dream comes true.

HITACHI Deskstar 7K3000 HDS723020BLA642 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0GB/3.5” Internal Hard Drive or Seagate Barracuda XT ST32000641AS 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0GB/3.5” Internal Hard Drive

I can’t say much about this, because it’s a freaking hard drive. Both are good and really are reliable. If you want to save on budget, get the HITACHI Deskstar. But if you want good and efficient quality, then go with the Seagate Barracuda. Both have 2TB with speed of 7200 RPM. Both are quiet and fast on doing their jobs. But, the credit goes to the Seagate Barracuda for its performance. So think about it before you decide.

Don't curse me for this.

CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W Power Supply

You need a power supply for your computer, so PCWizKid’s have provided one that is efficient and suitable for the total power this rig use. CORSAIR is a powerful brand, and known for its performance for gamers. So, don’t ask anything more than this. But if you need some of the less pricy, go for other brands on 850W Power Supply.

Need more power, get more $$$.

NZXT Phantom PHAN-001WT White Computer Case

This chassis name didn’t bring anything to me before I’ve seen it with my own eyes, but god do wondrous things and this is one of it. Tall as Cooler Master HAF 922, the PHAN-001WT ATX Full Towercase from NZXT is a contender that gamers should be looking out on. Designed with sleek, pristine contours, the Phantom radiates personality and quality. This case strives to set apart your rig from the rest with unique, original designs, not like the other NZXT design.

The Phantom delivers high performance cooling advantages with 7 fan cooling options, dual radiator support, quad water-cooling cutouts, and five 20W per channel fan controls. An innovative 5.25” screwless system, vast space to encompass 7 hard drives, and five 5.25” bays enable smooth customization. The features is all but pure performance demon.
I can put your freakin head in there.. seriously. I would..

LG Black Blu-ray Disc Combo SATA Model

Why the hell do you need this kind of Disc writer? Well, for one, it could play all the possible blu-ray movies and all type of disc out here. With the graphic card that surpasses the average, might want to consider this. But if you really don’t have the budget just go with 24x SATA DVD Writer. Any type will do. But this Disc Writer is really worth it.

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Full OS

Last but not least, the Operating System (OS). This OS kills all the other OEM on Windows 7. This OS features entirely new system, expanding the little ideas on progress works, which is well organized for multitasking and fast-paced interaction. Including the XP-mode where all the existing XP compatible software could be run well without any difficulties, backing up files and system easier, and new upgraded security that provide maximum safety for the OS not to be hacked by theft or hackers (although Mac is good enough for that). Put some money into this OS, it’s worth it.
For your own good, please don't show it to anyone..

  1. That’s an incredible Intel Setup! A PC that’s balanced and capable of handling heavy processing is definitely needed for high-end games. This setup would be perfect if combined with a gaming keyboard and mouse and a high-quality surround sound speaker. That would be awesome, right? By the way, I just can't see the reason why people are buying the i7. I don't think there are a whole lot of games that can really make use of the i7's full capabilities. I’m sticking with the i5 because it has a good price, and it performs quite well in all the games I’ve played it with.
